Five Fire Engines Rush to Biggin Street Inferno
A fire tore through a derelict flat above a shop on Biggin Street, Dover, on Friday night, sparking a major emergency response. Kent Fire and Rescue Service deployed five fire engines to the scene after the blaze was reported at around 8.20pm on July 14, 2023.
Firefighters, fully kitted out with PPE and breathing gear, battled the flames using high-pressure hose reels and main jets. Thanks to nearby hydrants and coordinated teamwork, they brought the fire under control without delay.
No Injuries but Arson Probe Underway
Luckily, no one was hurt during the fire. Authorities suspect the blaze was deliberately set, tagging it as a possible arson case. The motive behind the fire remains a mystery as cops continue their investigation.
We are treating the incident as suspicious and urge anyone with information to come forward,” said a Kent Police spokesperson.
