Historic Raven Hotel in Droitwich Spa Ravaged by Major Blaze

Firefighters are battling a huge fire at the Grade II listed Raven Hotel in Droitwich Spa tonight (10 August). The landmark building, standing for nearly 800 years on St Andrew’s Street, was being converted into residential homes when the blaze broke out.

The Raven Hotel, once a bustling public house and recognised by Historic England for its architectural and historical significance, is now caught in flames. The current stage of its redevelopment is unclear.

Fire Service Responds with Full Force

Hereford & Worcester Fire & Rescue Service confirmed six fire engines and specialist vehicles are at the scene. A spokesperson urged locals to steer clear and keep doors and windows shut:

“We are currently in attendance in Droitwich at a fire incident involving a derelict hotel on St Andrew’s Street. There are currently six fire appliances plus other specialist vehicles in attendance. We advise people to stay clear of the area while the incident is ongoing and recommend closing all windows and doors if you live nearby.”

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire remains unknown as investigations continue.
