Firefighters raced to a blaze at a Milford-On-Sea fish and chip shop this afternoon, with crews from Lymington, New Milton, and Brockenhurst battling the flames.

Five Fire Crews Battle Hungry Flames

The alarm was raised just after 4:20pm. The fire is believed to have started inside the shop. Five fire crews are currently on the scene, working hard to control the inferno and stop it from spreading to nearby buildings. Several firefighters are decked out in breathing apparatus, using hose reels and high-pressure jets to douse the fire.

Traffic Nightmare – Drivers Urged to Avoid the Area

The fire has caused serious traffic disruption, with many drivers stuck in gridlock. Locals and commuters alike are warned to steer clear of the area while emergency services carry out their work.

Staff at the chippy put up a sign in the window declaring the shop will remain closed until further notice. No word yet on the cause of the blaze or when the shop might reopen.
