Flames Rip Through Farnborough Hardware Store
Firefighters from Hampshire and Surrey raced to tackle a blazing fire in a hardware shop right in the heart of Farnborough town centre.
Firefighting Teams Battle Intense Blaze
Crews from Rushmoor, Basingstoke, and Camberley arrived on the scene after the fire broke out shortly after 2pm. Thick smoke poured from the shopfront as firefighters unleashed jets and high-pressure hose reels to snuff out the flames.
Shop Worker Hospitalised After Smoke Inhalation
Emergency services cordoned off the area, urging the public to steer clear while they battled the fire. A female worker was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation before being rushed to hospital.
Fire Service Confirms Details
“Firefighters from Rushmoor, Basingstoke, and Surrey tackled a fire on the ground floor of a hardware shop in Farnborough town centre,” said the fire service. “Crews used 12 breathing apparatus sets, two jets, three hose reels and a positive pressure ventilation system to clear the smoke. The cause of the fire will be investigated in due course.”
The emergency call came in at 2.11pm, and crews are still working to bring the situation under control.
