Tragedy in Horsforth: Teen Fatally Stabbed Outside Primary School
The quiet town of Horsforth, near Leeds, is reeling after 15-year-old Alfie Lewis was fatally stabbed just outside St. Margaret’s Primary School shortly before 3pm.
Murder Probe Launched as Community Mourns
Murder detectives have launched a full investigation into the deadly attack. A suspect is currently being questioned as the tight-knit Horsforth community comes to grips with the shocking loss.
Alfie was collecting a child from the school on Town Lane when he was ambushed. Witnesses say a gang of at least three youths stabbed Alfie in the stomach before fleeing the scene. A knife was later recovered by police.
Parents Rush to Help as Emergency Services Swarm Scene
Parents collecting their children sprang into action, providing critical aid until paramedics arrived. An air ambulance and police helicopter were scrambled to the scene in a bid to save Alfie’s life.
Floral tributes have appeared at the site, as messages pour in online. One Facebook tribute read: “I love and miss you so much Alfie. Fly high, my lil ginge. I’ll come see you soon.”
School and Police Offer Support Amid Heartbreak
Alfie was a pupil at Horsforth School & Sixth Form, having just turned 15 last September. Headteacher Paul Bell issued a statement saying:
“Our thoughts and sympathies lie with the family at this time while the student is receiving medical treatment.”
Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Atkinson said the investigation is in its early stages but stressed the need to uncover what led to the tragedy. Police and community partners are providing support to those affected.
