Man in 20s stabbed to death on Greenstead estate

Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a fatal stabbing in Colchester in the early hours of Friday, 11 December. Police were called to Affleck Road on the Greenstead estate shortly after 12:15am. Tragically, a man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene despite rapid efforts by officers and paramedics.

Second victim treated for minor injuries

Another person at the scene has been taken to hospital with minor injuries. The circumstances around this attack remain under investigation.

Arrest made as police hunt witnesses

A 25-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. He remains in police custody for questioning.

Officers are urging anyone who heard a disturbance late Thursday night or early Friday morning, or who saw suspicious activity nearby, to come forward.
