Blaze Hits Bungalow Roof in East Wellow

Forty firefighters battled a fierce fire that ripped through the marine plywood, bitumen, and corrugated tin roof of a bungalow on Gardeners Lane, East Wellow.

Firefighting Effort: Massive and Intense

The roof, measuring a hefty 15 by 10 metres, was tackled with 2 hose reels, a powerful jet, and 13 breathing apparatus crews. Firefighters from Romsey, Redbridge, St Mary’s, and Eastleigh were on the scene.

Over Three Hours of Firefighting

The emergency call came at 9.32pm on Friday. Fire crews worked through the night, sending the “stop” message just after 1am on Saturday morning.

Cause of Fire Still Unknown

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine what sparked the blaze. No further details have been released yet.
