Two Nabbed After Dawn Break-In at Salisbury Antique Store

Two men have been caught red-handed after breaking into an antique shop in Salisbury in the early hours. The dramatic arrest happened at around 3.45am this morning on Catherine Street.

Quick-Thinking Witness Leads Police Straight to Scene

A vigilant member of the public, making their way home from work, spotted the pair smashing a window and breaking in. They swiftly alerted the police, who arrived within a minute.

Officers found a shattered window and detained one suspect on the spot. The second man tried to flee but was quickly arrested.

Stolen Silverware and Jewellery Recovered

The burglars had nabbed a haul of silverware and jewellery, but thankfully, all the stolen items were recovered by police.

Both suspects, Salisbury locals aged in their 40s, remain in custody at Melksham for questioning on suspicion of burglary.

“This was an excellent result,” said Insp Pete Sparrow. “Thanks to the vigilant member of the public who reported the suspicious activity, officers arrived immediately and detained two men. A quantity of antiques and jewellery was also recovered. Our enquiries remain ongoing.”
