Two Caught Red-Handed in Salisbury Antique Store Bust
In the early hours of this morning (14/10), two men were snapped breaking into an antique store in Salisbury. A vigilant worker, heading home around 3.45am, spotted the burglars smashing a window on Catherine Street and alerted the police.
Swift Police Response Nails Burglars
- Officers arrived within a minute of the alert
- One man was detained right at the broken window
- The second suspect tried to flee but was quickly caught
Swiped Silverware and Jewellery Fully Recovered
The culprits had managed to grab a haul of silverware and jewellery. Thankfully, police recovered everything. Both men, in their 40s and local to Salisbury, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and are currently held in Melksham for questioning.
“This was an excellent result – thanks to the vigilant member of the public who reported the suspicious activity, officers were able to arrive immediately at the scene and detain two men,” said Insp Pete Sparrow. “A quantity of antiques and jewellery was also recovered and our enquiries remain ongoing.”
