Man Brutally Attacked in Hackney Over Jacket Theft
Police are hunting a violent thug after a man in his 50s was left with serious injuries in a shocking Hackney attack.
Victim Hospitalised for Over a Month
The sickening assault took place around 10:45pm on 20 July 2023. The victim caught the attacker trying to nick his jacket. The thief responded with a savage punch and kick combo.
The victim suffered a fractured cheekbone and nose, plus nasty cuts to his eye. He was rushed to hospital and stayed there for more than a month battling these severe injuries.
Police Struggle to Identify Suspect
Detectives from Central East CID launched a full-scale probe. They’ve scoured CCTV, forensic evidence, and interviewed witnesses — but the suspect remains at large.
DS Rhiannon Essam said: “This incident was extremely distressing for the victim and left him with serious injuries. We continue to hunt the person responsible and are now asking the public to help us identify the man in this footage.”
