Police have launched an investigation following a shooting incident in Canning Town early Saturday morning. Officers were called to Rogers Road, E16, at approximately 2:05 am on Saturday, 26 October, after receiving reports of gunshots in the area.
Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service, attended the scene and transported two men to the hospital with gunshot injuries. One of the men remains in critical condition, while the other sustained injuries that are not life-threatening.
A crime scene has been established, and additional police patrols are active in the area to reassure residents. As of now, no arrests have been made, and officers are continuing their inquiries to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The Metropolitan Police are appealing for anyone with information related to the incident to come forward. Witnesses or those with knowledge of the event are encouraged to contact police on 101 or through X @MetCC, quoting reference CAD757/26Oct. A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 2.05am today (26 October) to reports of a shooting on Rogers Road, Canning Town.
“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated two people at the scene. We took one patient to a major trauma centre as a priority and the other to a local hospital.”
