Pets Rescued But Fire Claims Lives in Local Blaze
Firefighters Save Pets in Dramatic Rescue
Two fire engines raced to a house fire where crews donned breathing gear and used hose reel jets to douse the flames. Thankfully, all residents escaped unharmed. Firefighters managed to rescue two cats, one dog, and a guinea pig. They even used special animal oxygen masks to help the pets breathe.
Tragic Losses Amid the Flames
Sadly, one cat and several guinea pigs did not survive the blaze. Volunteers from Kent Fire and Rescue Service’s (KFRS) Volunteer Response team provided vital support to those affected.
Accidental Fire Sparks Safety Warning
Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) also attended the scene. The fire is believed to have started accidentally when a tumble dryer caught fire in the kitchen.
Fire crews urge the public to take tumble dryer safety seriously. Their top tips include:
- Never leave your dryer running unattended.
- Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Clean out lint filters regularly to avoid build-up.
Stay safe and keep your home and pets protected from preventable fires.
