Suspicious Stop in Prospect Place
Police in Dartford swooped at 11.30am on 26 April after spotting a man acting suspiciously in Prospect Place. Officers stopped and searched the 29-year-old suspect.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team Called In
They found a suspicious item on the man. As a safety measure, police cordoned off the area. The British Army’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called to assess the potential threat.
Threat Poised No Danger, But Investigation Continues
The EOD team confirmed the item did not pose any risk to public safety. The man remains in custody while police carry on with their enquiries.
Part of the cordon within the local retail park remains in place until further notice as officers continue their investigation.
