Tragic Death: Man Electrocuted on Portsmouth Football Pitch

A shocking incident at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth has ended in tragedy. A 35-year-old man died after being electrocuted on a football pitch earlier this evening.

Electric Shock Leaves Man Unconscious

Hampshire Constabulary confirmed the man was knocked unconscious after receiving an electric shock at around 6.30pm. He was rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital but tragically later died.

Scene Locked Down as Power Crew Investigates

The football pitch remains cordoned off while teams from power company SSE work to make the area safe. Police arrived swiftly after a member of the public flagged them down.

Official Statement from Emergency Services

“We were called to reports of a man suffering an electric shock at the Mountbatten Centre. Unfortunately, he later passed away in hospital,” said a spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service (SCA).

Investigations continue into the cause of the fatal electric shock.
