Man Dies After Falling Unwell at Dagenham Bus Stop Near Primary School

 

A man has tragically died after falling unwell at a bus stop near a primary school in Dagenham this afternoon.

The incident occurred just before 1.30pm on Dagenham Road, near Eastbrook School, prompting an immediate response from the London Ambulance Service and Metropolitan Police.

Emergency crews, including an ambulance team, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer, and a clinical team manager, were quickly dispatched to the scene. According to paramedics, the first team arrived in under four minutes.

Despite their rapid response and best efforts, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.


Area Cordoned Off

A yellow tent was erected at the bus stop and cordons were put in place as emergency services worked at the scene. The area remained closed to the public while crews conducted their work, drawing attention from concerned residents and passers-by.


Official Statement

A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said:

“We were called at 1.28pm today (17 April) to reports of a person unwell on Dagenham Road, Dagenham.

We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and a clinical team manager.

Our first paramedics arrived on scene in less than four minutes.

Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The Metropolitan Police have been contacted for further information, and it remains unclear at this stage whether the man’s death is being treated as suspicious.
