Man Fighting for Life After Attack  on Westminster Bridge – UKNIP

 

A man is in critical condition following a stabbing on Westminster Bridge in central London this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 10:45 AM after reports of a fight breaking out on the iconic bridge, which connects Westminster to Lambeth.

The London Ambulance Service confirmed that the injured man was treated on the scene before being airlifted to a nearby hospital. His condition is described as critical.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident, according to the Metropolitan Police. Three suspects were detained on suspicion of attempted murder, while a fourth has been arrested for affray. Two of the suspects have been taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained during the altercation.

Westminster Bridge has been closed to traffic and pedestrians while investigations are ongoing, causing significant disruption in the area. Police cordons are in place, and officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “We are in the early stages of this investigation. We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant footage to come forward as it could prove vital in our inquiries.”

London’s Air Ambulance and additional emergency services attended the scene promptly, and police have assured the public that there is no further threat.

The motive behind the altercation remains unclear, and officers are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
