A brutal stabbing in Southampton’s East Park has left a man injured and police in hot pursuit of the attackers.

Emergency Rush to East Park

Just before 4.15pm on Sunday, emergency crews swarmed East Park after reports of a violent assault. A 33-year-old man was found with stab wounds to the back of his leg and a broken leg. He was rushed to hospital, where medics confirmed his injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

Huge Emergency Response and Ongoing Police Hunt

Eyewitnesses described a massive scene — six ambulances and multiple police vehicles lined London Road. A police cordon was quickly set up but has since been partly lifted. Officers stayed on site, combing the area for clues and chasing leads.

Police Speak Out, Reassure Community

“We were called just before 4.15pm about a 33-year-old man stabbed in the back of the leg. No arrests yet, but we’re actively tracing those involved. This is treated as an isolated incident, and we don’t believe there’s any wider threat to the community. Patrols will continue around the park in the coming days,” said a Hampshire police spokesperson.
