Elderly Man Brutally Punched Outside Tesco in Hammersmith

Detectives are hunting a thug who left a 71-year-old man battered in a shocking street attack in Hammersmith and Fulham.

The victim was leaving a Tesco store on Fulham Road at 6:30pm on Wednesday, 14 August 2019 when trouble sparked. After a brief verbal spat, the suspect stalked the elderly man down the street.

Without warning, the man swung a brutal punch, smashing the victim’s face before sprinting off.

Victim Suffers Serious Injuries

The 71-year-old was rushed to hospital, where doctors confirmed he had a broken cheekbone and eye socket. The assault left him with lasting physical and emotional trauma.

Police Appeal for Witnesses to ID Suspect

No arrests have been made. Detective Constable Jack Emly from Central West Command Unit said:

“We urge anyone who recognises this man to get in touch. The victim’s injuries are serious, and he continues to suffer emotionally from this attack.”
