Far-Right Terror Group Sends Chilling Death Threats to Black and Trans Women
Met Police Launch Terror Probe
The Metropolitan Police have launched a serious investigation after a far-right extremist group hand-delivered vicious death threats to prominent Black and trans women.
Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu, a well-known Black activist, academic, and lawyer, and trans activist and TV presenter India Willoughby, were targeted with horrific letters from the neo-Nazi group National Action on Monday, 20 February.
Graphic Letters Threaten Murder Over Race and Gender
The threatening letters vividly described how the fascist group planned to kill Mos-Shogbamimu and Willoughby because of their race and gender. They even mentioned personal details, including the activist’s husband’s name and address.
One letter called Shola a “constant troublemaker and liar” who “makes a shabby living slandering ethnic white Europeans.” It coldly stated, “We have placed you on our kill list and intend to kill you, your children, and your husband. Now it’s time to pay the price.”
The letter also warned, “We suggest you leave the UK immediately. Your details have been shared online with violent nationalist activists and blackshirts. Your execution is coming, Adeshola.” The hateful message was packed with vile, racist slurs, branding her a “dreg of multicultural society.”
Neo-Nazi Group National Action Still Active Despite Ban
National Action was founded in 2013 but banned as a terrorist organisation in 2016 due to their “virulently racist, anti-Semitic, and homophobic” ideology. Members face up to ten years in prison, yet the group continues to operate secret cells across the UK.
Willoughby Also Threatened: “Like a Horror Movie Letter”
India Willoughby revealed she received a similar chilling letter. Her accountant was the first to get a hand-delivered note outlining a graphic murder threat simply because she is transgender.
“The letter looked like it was straight out of a horror movie,” Willoughby said. “If anything happens to me, I will hold British press, government, right-wing media, and the Gender Critical movement responsible.”
Police Take Threats Seriously, Call for Public Help
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed: “We are aware of letters sent to two victims containing vile racist and transphobic language and threats.” The investigation is being led by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.
“Officers have contacted the victims and offered full support. No arrests have been made yet, and enquiries continue,” the spokesperson added.
Anyone who has received similar letters or has information should call 0800 789 321 to help police track down those responsible.
