Two Women Arrested After Brutal Assault

A 66-year-old man was shoved to the ground and robbed in a nasty attack in Swindon. The ordeal unfolded just after 2.45pm on July 7 near the Oasis underpass off Hawksworth Way.

Two women approached the pensioner asking for money. They then led him to a secluded spot, pushed him over, and robbed him of his cash. Wiltshire Police have arrested two local women in their 40s on suspicion of robbery. Both were released under investigation as the probe continues.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

PC Joseph Tedder said: “Although we have made two arrests in connection with this incident, we are keen to progress our enquiries by speaking to members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or may have more information which could assist our investigation. This was a really horrible incident in which a vulnerable member of our community was targeted and subjected to a very upsetting ordeal. We are dedicated to bringing those responsible to justice.”
