Murder Probe Launched After Peckham Gang Member Fatally Stabbed in Croydon
A brutal stabbing in Croydon has left a 22-year-old Peckham gang member dead, sparking a full murder investigation.
Fatal Stabbing at Wisbeach Road
Police were called to a home on Wisbeach Road, SE25, at around 8.10pm on Friday, 5 February, after reports of a stabbing. Officers and paramedics arrived to find the victim suffering from a severe stab wound.
Despite rapid emergency efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene just before 9.10pm.
His family has been informed, and a post-mortem examination will follow.
Second Victim Hurt but Survives
Officers learned that a second male, also stabbed during the incident, had already been taken to hospital before police arrived. His injuries are not life-threatening, and his loved ones have been notified.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“A group of males attended the address and an altercation occurred which led to the victim’s fatal stab injury,” said Detective Chief Inspector Martin Thorpe from Specialist Crime.
“I urge anyone in the area who saw or heard anything around 8pm on Friday to come forward. Even the smallest piece of information could help us unravel what happened.”
“I know there were several violent incidents across south London that evening, but we currently see no links between them.”
“A young man has lost his life in a senseless act of violence. His family is devastated. If you can help us catch those responsible, please speak to police immediately.”
