Sussex Police teamed up with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to launch a blitz on unsafe drivers and vehicles. On Monday 23 January, officers from the Roads 123 unit carried out proactive safety checks across Sussex, making the streets safer for everyone.
New Mobile Inspection Unit Boosts Enforcement
Marian Kitson, DVSA’s Director of Enforcement, hailed the new Mobile Inspection Unit as a game changer. “This unit allows us to be more agile and laser-focused on hunting down dangerous drivers and vehicles,” she said. “Our partnership with Sussex Police means we can better protect local communities.”
Officials Warn: Unsafe Vehicles Are a Public Threat
Roads Minister Richard Holden slammed reckless operators with faulty vehicles. “Operators with unroadworthy vehicles are a menace,” he said. “The Mobile Inspection Unit will clamp down on these rule-breakers and keep our roads safe.”
