Man Arrested for Attempted Murder After Shocking New Malden Stabbing
A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a brutal stabbing near Shannons Corner, New Malden.
Police Called to Stabbing Incident
The Metropolitan Police were called at 7pm on Tuesday, 23 June, after reports of an assault in the area. The London Ambulance Service also attended the scene.
A 67-year-old victim was seriously injured in the attack. The extent of their injuries is described as life-changing.
Suspect Remains in Custody
Following police enquiries, the young man was arrested on 24 June. He remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
A crime scene was set up around Shannons Corner while officers conducted a thorough probe into the stabbing.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“Enquiries are ongoing,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said.
