Off-Duty Cheshire Cop Nominated for Top Bravery Award After Armed Rescue
An off-duty Cheshire Police officer has been nominated for the National Police Bravery Awards 2024 after heroically saving a man from two armed attackers.

PC Aaron Jackson spotted an 18-year-old man being chased and threatened by two men dressed in dark clothing. Without hesitation, Jackson stopped his car and stepped in despite knowing the suspects were armed.
The victim quickly told PC Jackson about the weapons. But the cop wasn’t fazed. Using his training and sheer strength, he disarmed and detained both assailants, preventing any harm.
Praise Pours In for Courage Under Fire
Colleagues and bosses have lavished praise on PC Jackson’s gutsy actions. James Thompson, Chair of Cheshire Police Federation, lauded his bravery, highlighting the dedication of officers even off duty.
“PC Jackson’s swift action is a shining example of true police spirit and commitment to public safety,” said Inspector Colin Searle.
Chief Constable Mark Roberts also hailed Jackson’s instinctive heroism, noting he stepped up without protective gear or backup.
