Tragic Crash Claims Couple’s Lives on A85
Martin Cousland, 70, and his wife Josephine, 69, known as Jo, were killed outright in a horror smash on the A85 in Argyll. The couple, from Anstruther, Fife, died when their red Audi Q2 collided head-on with a grey Ford Mondeo near Arrivain and Dalmally at around 2 pm on Friday, 31 March 2023.
Ford Occupants Hospitalised but Stable
The three men travelling in the Ford Mondeo were rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. Thankfully, medics now say their condition is stable.
Police Launch Probe, Seek Witnesses
Sergeant Archie McGuire from Police Scotland’s Campbeltown Roads Policing Unit appealed for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr and Mrs Cousland. We are continuing our enquiries and would again appeal to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the crash to get in touch.”
“I would also ask anyone who was travelling in the area who may have dash-cam footage which could assist to get in touch.”
Police are urging witnesses to call 101 quoting incident number 1923 of Friday, 31 March 2023. A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal as investigations continue.
