Two Men Hurt in Shocking Orpington Acid and Knife Attack

Two men were left injured after a terrifying suspected corrosive substance and knife assault in Orpington.

Police Rush to Scene on Cray Avenue

The Metropolitan Police were called at around 7:10pm on Monday, 11 August following reports of an attack on Cray Avenue. Officers arrived alongside the London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service crews to find the victims.

Victims Treated but Refuse Hospital Care

A 40-year-old man and a 43-year-old man sustained injuries thought to be not life-threatening or life-changing. Both were treated at the scene but declined to go to hospital. A third man, aged 22, was unharmed.

Knife and Corrosive Substance Used, Police Search for Suspects

Detectives are probing claims the victims were targeted with both a knife and corrosive substance. No arrests have been made yet.

“There have been no arrests at this stage and enquiries are ongoing. Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood team have increased their patrols in the area,” a Met Police spokesperson said.
