Chaos on M27 as Minibus Rolls Over Near Fareham

Three lanes on the M27 were shut down late Wednesday after a blue Mercedes Sprinter minibus flipped near Fareham. The crash happened just before 11pm on the westbound carriageway close to Junction 11.

Minibus Overturns, Causes Massive Roadblock

The converted Sprinter rolled over, blocking three of the four lanes. Hampshire Road Policing officers and Highways England quickly closed the stretch to tackle the fallout. Fire crews from Fareham rushed to the scene but didn’t have to rescue anyone.

Firefighters Make Scene Safe, LPG Bottle Removed

Firefighters disconnected an LPG gas bottle used for cooking inside the minibus, preventing further danger. Thankfully, no one was trapped and paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service confirmed injuries were not serious.

Recovery Teams Called In, Delays Expected

Experts from Boarhunt were brought in to help clear the wreck and restore traffic flow. The three lanes near the M27 on-slip remained closed for hours. The M27 fully reopened shortly after midnight, but delays hit drivers hard.
