Chaos in Newport as pickup truck hits woman on pavement
Emergency crews swarmed Pyle Street in Newport this morning after a pickup truck mounted the pavement and struck a woman stepping out of a blue Seat Leon.
Woman in her 50s rushed to hospital
The woman, believed to be in her fifties, received first aid at the scene before being rushed to hospital by ambulance. Thankfully, her injuries are not thought to be serious.
Roads partially blocked but no one trapped
Contrary to early reports, no one was trapped in the incident. However, Pyle Street remains closed to traffic as police continue their investigation.
