Tragic death of four-year-old girl Lesma-Rose Wibier in Manchester house fire

A four-year-old girl who died in a horrific Manchester house fire has been named Lesma-Rose Wibier. The youngster’s heartbroken family called her the “star of the family,” praising her bright smile, intelligence, and joyful spirit.

Fire Breaks Out in Rusholme Home

The blaze erupted on Sunday, March 2, at around 12:35 PM in a terraced house on Gateshead Close, Rusholme. Firefighters from four stations rushed to the scene and quickly put out the flames. Despite their efforts, Lesma-Rose was seriously injured and rushed to hospital, but sadly, she could not be saved.

Murder Probe Underway – Woman Arrested

A 44-year-old woman known to the child was first arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. She has now been rearrested on suspicion of murder and detained under the Mental Health Act for assessment.

Family Pays Heartbreaking Tribute

“Lesma-Rose was the star of the family. Anyone who knew her knew she was the most beautiful girl inside and out. She always had a smile on her face and could put the same on others. She was such a smart and intelligent girl in her own unique ways, and she will be deeply missed by anyone who was blessed to meet her.”

Emergency Services Respond

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service crews acted fast. Ben Levy, Area Manager, expressed his condolences, saying:

“I want to pass on the condolences of everyone at Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service to the family and friends of the young girl who tragically lost her life following this incident.”

Police Vow to Find Justice

Police keep a cordon in place as their Major Incident Team continues to investigate. Detective Chief Inspector Charlotte Whalley said:

“This awful incident has seen the tragic death of a young girl. I would like to send my condolences to her friends and family. Numerous emergency services attended the scene and all did their utmost to save her. There is no wider threat to the community, and no one else is being sought. We are fully investigating all circumstances and will leave no stone unturned.”
