Thick black smoke billowed over Cornelia Place, Erith, this evening as a fire tore through a rundown building. The dramatic scene sparked a rapid response from the London Fire Brigade, who raced to the spot to tackle the flames.

Swift Action from Firefighters

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson revealed:

“Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters responded to a fire in a derelict building on Cornelia Place, Erith.”

“The Brigade was first called at 6:31pm, and crews had the fire under control by 7:19pm.”

Firefighters from Erith, Bexley, and Plumstead stations battled the blaze until it was tamed just before 7:20pm. Luckily, there are no reported injuries.
