Hit-and-Run Chaos in Knaphill: Police Hunt Subaru Fleeing Crash
Police are urgently hunting witnesses after a hit-and-run crash outside Wickes DIY in Knaphill tonight (19 October).
Subaru Rams Into Mazda and Flees Scene
Officers were called to Inkerman Road around 6.40pm following reports of a smash between a black Subaru and a white Mazda. The occupants of the Subaru bolted from the scene immediately after the collision.
Suspects Nabbed, But Search Continues For More
Two people from the Subaru were arrested nearby on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop. But police believe there’s at least one more person still on the run, and the search in the area continues.
The Mazda driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Police Plea After “Dangerous Driving” Incident
Temporary Sgt Richard Griffin said: “We are appealing to anyone who saw the Subaru being driven dangerously prior to the collision. Fortunately, the driver of the other vehicle only suffered minor injuries, but this could have been far worse.”
He added: “There’s been a lot of police activity in the area tonight. We want local residents to know we are doing all we can to track down those who fled and bring them to justice.”
