Historic Hangars at Old Sarum Airfield Ravaged by Devastating Blaze

Fire Erupts as Emergency Crews Rush to Scene
The alarm was raised shortly after 6pm on 17 April when flames engulfed two partially derelict hangars at the airfield. Nearby, a building operated by another business suffered significant fire damage, adding to the scale of the disaster.
Investigation Underway – Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Wiltshire Police and fire services are investigating the cause of the fire, which remains unexplained.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area shortly before the fire started to get in touch. Any information, no matter how small, could be vital to our enquiries,”
the police said in a statement.
Officers urge witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to call 101, quoting log number 262 of 17/04. Alternatively, you can pass information anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
