Bulldozed Wall and a Cash Machine Caper
At around 3.30am on 14 March 2023, cops rushed to Wesley Road in Retford after reports of a brazen break-in at the local SPAR. Thieves drove a JCB teleporter straight into the shop’s side wall to storm the premises.
Police Crash the Party – Thieves Flee in White Van
Police quickly arrived and interrupted the heist, finding the cash machine still inside the store. The crooks sped off in a white van, which was later abandoned nearby, leaving behind the JCB and other evidence embedded at the scene.
Detectives Hunt for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Detectives are scouring the JCB and items left behind while door-knocking in the area. Residents can expect a heavy police presence as the scene is secured and inquiries continue.
Detective Sergeant Georgina Gallagher of Nottinghamshire Police said: “This was a pre-planned and targeted burglary attempt, and we are determined to catch the culprits fast. We urge anyone who saw a white van in the area before or after the raid, or who has dashcam footage, to come forward.”
