Police are appealing for information following a fatal stabbing in Kidbrooke

Police are appealing for information following a fatal stabbing in Kidbrooke. At 2.40pm on Wednesday, 10 July, police were called to reports of a stabbing on Tellson Avenue, SE18. At the scene, a man, aged 22, was found suffering a number of stab wounds. Despite the extensive efforts of medical staff, he was pronounced dead at 8.35pm. His next of kin are aware. A post-mortem examination will take place in due course. At this stage it is believed that the victim was stabbed in an alleyway on Tellson Avenue and a crime scene remains in place. The Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command have launched a murder investigation, led by Detective Chief Inspector Richard Leonard. DCI Leonard said: “We are working hard to establish the exact circumstances of this incident and while robbery is one potential motive we continue to keep an open mind. “This attack happened in broad daylight and we urge anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious to come forward and assist us with our investigation.” Anyone with information should call the incident room on 0208 721 4622 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
