Tragic Crash on A530 Near Whitchurch Claims Life
At around 6.30pm on Sunday 9 April, chaos erupted on the A530 near Whitchurch Road heading towards Nantwich. Police were called after a grey Ford Fiesta smashed into a tree.
Young Man Dies at Scene, Others Hospitalised
Tragically, the front passenger, a 19-year-old man from Whitchurch, died at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Three others in the car – an 18-year-old man, a 22-year-old man, and a 19-year-old woman – were rushed to hospital. Their injuries are serious but not believed life-threatening.
Driver Arrested Over Fatal Crash
The driver, a 20-year-old man from Whitchurch, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Investigations are ongoing. Police urge anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed the smash to come forward.
