Two Arrested After Brutal Radford ATM Robbery and Aggravated Burglary
Police have made a breakthrough in Radford, Nottinghamshire, after a terrifying cash machine robbery and a linked aggravated burglary left victims shaken. Two suspects are now behind bars following a spate of violent crimes that rocked the community.
Hammer Attack After ATM Withdrawal
Just after midnight on April 2, a woman was violently assaulted after using an ATM on Hartley Road. One attacker struck her over the head with a ratchet and repeatedly kicked her. The thug then fled with £40 in cash the victim had just withdrawn. Shockingly, the victim’s friend was also targeted by the same criminals during the ordeal.
Rapid Police Action: Two Held
- 42-year-old woman detained at a nearby property on the morning of the robbery.
- 49-year-old man arrested three days later, on April 5.
Officers linked the suspects not only to the ATM robbery but also to an aggravated burglary at a Norton Street flat in Radford on March 31. In that incident, residents faced a terrifying home invasion.
Drugs Charge Adds to Suspect’s Woes
The female suspect was also arrested for possession of Class A drugs, complicating the case further.
Detective’s Warning and Appeal
Detective Inspector Julian Eminson-Ferry said: “We are treating these cases with utmost gravity and are making significant headway. Our investigation shows the robbery and burglary are connected, and the victims likely knew the suspects. There’s no wider danger to the public. We remain committed to justice for those affected.”
Anyone with information is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 51 of April 2, 2024.
