Knife drama erupts at Nottingham pub as man arrested with drugs

Police rushed to The Joseph Else pub in South Parade, Nottingham, just before 6pm on 27 December after reports of men arguing inside. Cops say a man allegedly threatened a group with a knife.
Cops swoop and find more than just a blade
Officers found a knife left on a chair and, after checking CCTV footage, arrested a 31-year-old suspect for possession of a bladed article in public. A further search uncovered a bag of white powder, leading to an additional arrest for suspected possession of class-A drugs.
Police vow to crack down on knife crime
“Thankfully no-one was seriously injured during this isolated incident but we are continuing to work hard to establish exactly what happened,” said Sergeant Paul Crofts, Nottinghamshire Police.
“Violence will not be tolerated on our streets and we will take robust action against those who choose to carry and use dangerous weapons.”
Nottinghamshire Police run two dedicated knife crime teams tackling weapon offences year round. The force also delivers intense school education and intervention schemes to keep young people away from violence.
Officers urge the public to stay vigilant and report anyone carrying weapons to help prevent these dangerous incidents.
