Police Bodycam Reveals Shocking Dog Attack and Taser Use
Newly released bodycam footage from West Midlands Police exposes a chaotic dog attack that forced officers to stun the aggressive animal with a Taser before trapping it in a wheelie bin. The dramatic video was published to counter a viral witness clip that criticised the police response.
Dog Goes on the Rampage, Attacking Other Dogs and People
The incident unfolded last Tuesday, showing the dog repeatedly attacking other dogs as bystanders tried – nervously – to step in. West Midlands Police say the dog was “clearly out of control” and posed a serious threat, including towards children nearby.
“The dog had already assaulted other canines and even a member of the public who had to defend themselves with an umbrella,” confirmed a police spokesperson.
Taser and Wheelie Bin Used to Stop the Aggression
With the situation spiralling, officers deployed a Taser to prevent the dog from causing serious harm. The footage reveals the tense moments leading to the stun and the unusual step of placing the animal in a wheelie bin for control.
Dog in Good Health, Owner Fully Informed
Despite rumours online, the police have confirmed the dog was not fatally injured. It was seized by the Dangerous Dogs Unit, examined by vets, and is now secured in kennels under professional care. Authorities say the dog’s owner has been fully briefed on the police action.
West Midlands Police defended their use of the Taser, calling it a necessary measure to stop the out-of-control dog and protect public safety.
