Illegal Rave Packed to the Brim as Police Shut Down Wild Party in SouthEast London
Hundreds Flock to Warehouse Bash
Hundreds of partygoers flouted social distancing rules, cramming into a SouthEast London warehouse for an illegal rave in the early hours of Sunday. The rave had been raging for hours before police stormed the scene to shut it down.
Photos reveal maskless revellers packed shoulder to shoulder, dancing near a live DJ in the Sydenham Industrial Park, completely ignoring COVID-19 restrictions.
Police Respond to Loud Music Tip-Off
Officers from Bromley, Croydon, and Lewisham responded, joined by dog handlers and Specialist TSG units. They acted on reports from railway workers who heard the booming music while maintaining nearby tracks on Kangley Bridge Road.
During the raid around 2.30am, 18 people were hauled off the railway tracks after power was isolated. These revellers had tried to dodge police but were caught. Some even showed up in full rave gear.
Chaos and Casualties
Several partygoers were too worse for wear to leave on their own and had to be carried out. London Ambulance Service treated multiple people at the scene. A 14-year-old girl was also found and safely reunited with her parents.
Police Shut It Down – No Arrests Yet
Six police carriers packed with riot and public order officers cut the sound system and ordered the crowd to disperse. No arrests have been reported so far. Investigations to find who organised the illegal rave are ongoing.
The Met Police have been approached for comment.
