Late-Night Stabbing Shakes South Norwood

Chaos erupted just before 2 a.m. on South Norwood High Street, Croydon, near Portland Road, when a stabbing incident sent shockwaves through the area.

Victim Rushed to Hospital

Emergency services, including police and London Ambulance Service paramedics, arrived swiftly. A 36-year-old man was rushed to hospital with stab wounds. Thankfully, his injuries are reported as non-life threatening.

Suspect in Custody

Another 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody. Officers have sealed off the scene at the intersection of South Norwood High Street and Grosvenor Road.

Police Statement

Police were called to High Street, SE25, around 2am on Saturday, 1 April, after reports of a stabbing,” the Metropolitan Police said.

“A 36-year-old man was transported to hospital. His condition is not life-threatening.

“A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody.”
