Drugs Hidden in Baby Clothes Spark Police Arrests on A38
Two suspects were hauled in after police unearthed thousands worth of suspected drugs stashed inside a baby’s sleepsuit. The shocking find came when officers stopped a car on the A38 near Junction 28 at around 6:40pm on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.
Sniffer Police Detect Cannabis, Find Heroin and Crack Pipe
Officers from the Road Crime Team caught a strong whiff of cannabis inside the vehicle. Their search revealed suspected heroin and cocaine cleverly wrapped inside a baby grow hidden in the boot.
- A 48-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
- The man was also found with a crack pipe and an empty cannabis bag.

“This was an excellent piece of police work,” said Detective Inspector Simon Harrison. “Our ongoing hunt for drug dealers means we’ll keep seizing dangerous drugs off our streets and bringing offenders to justice.”
