Man Found Stabbed to Death on Busy Cowley Road
Emergency crews were called to Cowley Road just after 7pm on 6 July where they found Khurram Butt lying on the pavement with fatal stab wounds. Despite rapid treatment from London Ambulance Service paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance, the 49-year-old died at the scene. Police have informed his next of kin.
49-Year-Old Arrested on Murder Suspicion
A 49-year-old man was promptly arrested at a west London police station on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
Locals Shocked by Daylight Attack
“It was quite shocking,” said one anonymous resident. “It happened across the street on a very busy road in broad daylight. The ambulance and air ambulance arrived in record time. I honestly can’t believe it.”
Andy Panayiotou, 43, who moved to the area in November, added, “It doesn’t make me feel unsafe; it just feels out of character. We were all taken aback. It really does feel surreal.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin urged anyone who was near Cowley Road and Frayslea junction around 7pm on 6 July to come forward. “It’s a busy road with lots of pedestrians and vehicles. We especially want dashcam footage that could assist the investigation.”
