Police Nab Two Suspects in Foiled Business Break-In
Nottinghamshire cops swooped on Arnold Road, Old Basford, after reports of a business break-in on Wednesday night. They arrived just after 9pm to find a padlock on the compound had been cut – but the gate stayed shut.
Chase Ends With Two Arrests
Officers, backed by the Operational Support team, searched the site and spotted two suspects sneaking out through another gate. The duo bolted towards Fenton Road but didn’t get far before foot cops caught and detained them nearby.
Stolen Van and Burglary Gear Found
A sweep of the business grounds uncovered a van left running with an angle grinder on the footwell. Further checks revealed the vehicle was stolen from South Yorkshire. The suspects – a 36-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy – were arrested for attempted burglary and vehicle theft.
Police Praise Quick Response
Chief Inspector Chris Pearson said: “Thanks to the alertness of our officers, we disrupted a potential burglary, arrested two suspects, and recovered a stolen vehicle.
“This is a prime example of our response and Operational Support teams working together for a swift, positive result.
“Commercial break-ins like this can seriously hurt people’s livelihoods and are completely unacceptable. We’re pleased to have stopped this in its tracks.”
