A woman was hit by a car at around 6.05pm on 16 March 2023 while crossing King Edward’s Street in Nottingham, heading towards Lower Parliament Street.

Driver Flees Scene

The offending vehicle, described as black or dark-coloured, did not stop after the collision. It sped off towards Glasshouse Street, leaving the pedestrian injured and shocked.

Passers-By Step In, Police Investigate

Good Samaritans rushed to help the woman at the scene. Fortunately, she is not believed to have sustained serious or life-threatening injuries.

Officers have scoured the area and reviewed CCTV footage to identify the driver. They are now urgently calling for witnesses to come forward.

Police Plea for Witnesses and Dash-Cam Footage

“Thankfully the pedestrian was not seriously injured but for the motorist to not stop at the scene is completely unacceptable,” said PC Aaron Harthill-Harrison of Nottinghamshire Police.

“This is a very busy intersection with many potential witnesses. Anyone who saw the incident or has dash-cam footage must get in touch.”
