Police Haul in 12 Vehicles and Stolen Parts in Major Sussex Crackdown
On 13 June, cops swooped in Newhaven and Stone Cross, seizing 12 vehicles and nine pallets packed with suspected stolen car parts. It’s a big blow to local vehicle thieves.
Man Arrested Over String of Crimes Including Drug Driving and Burglary Gear
A 36-year-old man with no fixed address was arrested. He faces a slew of charges: drug driving, driving without insurance, possessing burglary tools, vehicle theft, handling stolen goods, plus possession and cultivation of Class B drugs. He’s now out on bail as investigations ramp up.
Sussex Police Unite for Crackdown on Serious Crime
Detective Inspector Sophie McGarel praised the joint effort behind the crackdown. She said,
“This complex operation was the result of extensive collaboration across multiple Sussex Police departments, including the Tactical Enforcement Unit, Intelligence and Tasking, Specialist Vehicle Examiners, and the Criminal Investigation Department.”
She added the investigation aims to return stolen property to its rightful owners and highlights Sussex Police’s commitment to tackling serious acquisitive crime in the community.
