Quick-Thinking Fire Crews Rescue Basingstoke Church from Blaze
Firefighters from Hampshire Fire and Rescue pulled off a hero job tonight, saving St Joseph’s Church in Basingstoke from serious damage after a fire broke out next door.
Flames Engulf Neighbouring Building
Crews arrived to find the back of a community building well ablaze, with flames already creeping onto the church roof. The situation looked grim, but fire crews acted fast to stop the inferno from spreading further.
Roof Damaged but Church Saved
The fire was contained after nearly two hours of battling the blaze. While part of the church roof suffered damage, the main structure was spared. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported.
Investigation Underway
Police and fire officials will launch a probe to determine what sparked the fire. It’s too soon to say whether the blaze was deliberate.
