Shock Hackney Shooting Leaves Nine-Year-Old Girl Critical
A week on from a shocking shooting in Hackney, police are still hunting for the gunman who left a nine-year-old girl critically injured and three men wounded.
Detectives Race to Crack Case
Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway, the policing lead for Hackney and Tower Hamlets, said: “Our team is working tirelessly to piece together what happened and find the dangerous individual responsible for this horrific, indiscriminate act of violence.”
He urged anyone with information to come forward anonymously, stressing the need to bring the perpetrator to justice.
Links to Organised Crime Under Scrutiny
Police are probing a potential connection to Turkish-based organised crime networks. The young victim, simply enjoying dinner with her family when shots rang out, remains in critical condition.
“Specialist family liaison officers are supporting her loved ones during this incredibly tough time,” Detective Conway added.
Motorbike Gunman Opens Fire on Kingsland High Street
The terrifying incident happened just after 9pm on Wednesday, May 29, when a lone motorcyclist fired shots at a restaurant in Dalston’s Kingsland High Street.
- The suspect zoomed off on a stolen Ducati Monster motorbike, spotted with registration plates DP21 OXY.
- Three men, aged 37, 42 and 44, were also shot but have since been discharged from hospital.
Detectives have reissued images of the distinctive motorbike and appealed directly to the Turkish and Kurdish communities for any tips.

Local officers, supported by the Met’s Turkish Police Association and specialist firearm units, have increased patrols in the area to reassure residents.
Tonight, a fresh witness appeal will take place as police continue their desperate search for answers. Members of the public are urged to share any information that could help the investigation.
