Motorcyclist Battles for Life After Crashing Into Lamppost in South London

A man is fighting for his life after a terrifying motorcycle smash on a busy South London street in the early hours. The horror crash happened around 4:15am this morning (October 28) on Tooting Bec Road, right next to Tooting Common.

Emergency Services Rush to Scene

Police quickly arrived near the junction with Aldrington Road (SW16) to find the badly injured rider. He was rushed to hospital and remains in a critical condition. So far, little is known about his identity.

Tooting Bec Road Shuts Down as Crash Investigation Continues

The A214 Tooting Bec Road is still closed in both directions between West Drive and Garrads Road. Traffic sensors confirm the road remains shut as officers work the scene.

“Police were called at approximately 04:15 hrs on Saturday, 28 October to reports of a motorbike in collision with a lamppost in Tooting Bec Road, near the junction with Aldrington Road, SW16. The rider of the motorbike – a man (no further details) – was taken to hospital for treatment; he remains there in a critical condition. Road closures remain in place.
