Post Office Robbed in Edinburgh – Police Hunt Young Robber

Detectives are on the hunt after a brazen robbery at Milton Road West Post Office in Edinburgh on Sunday, September 24.

Early Morning Hold-Up

The robbery went down just after 7:20am BST. An unknown young man stormed into the post office, threatened a male staff member, and demanded cash. He escaped with a two-figure sum, fleeing towards Duddingston Park and then north to the Duddingston Road crossroads.

Staff Member Unharmed but Shaken

Luckily, the employee wasn’t hurt physically but was left visibly rattled by the ordeal.

Police Description of Suspect

  • White male, late teens to early 20s
  • Height: approx. 5ft 7in to 5ft 8in
  • Build: slim to medium
  • Clothing: Two-tone black and grey hooded zip-up top, light blue Nike joggers with white motif on left thigh, black and white Nike trainers
  • Carrying a black cross-body ‘man bag’

Detective Calls for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

“The member of staff has been left badly shaken by this incident, and it is vital that we trace the person involved,” said Detective Inspector Kevin Tait of Edinburgh Division CID.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen the suspect in the surrounding area before or after the robbery this morning to please get in touch.”

DI Tait also urged motorists with dashcams nearby at the time to check their footage, as it may hold crucial clues.
