Six Guns Seized and Two Men Arrested in Essex Firearms Sting
Armed cops swooped on a white van in Essex, pulling six loaded guns and ammo off the streets—and locking up two suspects in the process.
Van Stop Sparks Major Firearms Bust
At around 8am on Tuesday, 25 February, armed officers from Specialist Crime North stopped a white van on Epping Road, Essex. The driver, a 33-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of possessing firearms. A thorough search followed, leading to a crucial house raid.
Roydon Property Yields Loaded Guns and Ammo
A search warrant for a property on Little Brook Road, Roydon, uncovered four handguns and two shotguns, all loaded and ready to fire. Officers also seized a stash of ammunition and shotgun cartridges. The 33-year-old remains in custody.
Second Suspect Released Under Investigation
A second man, aged 29, was also arrested on firearms offences but has since been released under investigation as inquiries continue.
Detective Chief Inspector Driss Hayoukane said: “Firearms are part of the toolkit of violent criminals, and the Met is committed to taking them off the streets and identifying and arresting people who acquire, use, and seek to make a profit from the sale of firearms.
“Officers are conducting potentially dangerous operations like this every day in order to protect the public, and we will continue in our efforts to bear down on violent crime in the capital.”
